PECB’s ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS) training portfolio is designed for professionals and organisations seeking internationally recognised capability to establish, implement, audit, and continually improve environmental governance and performance. Delivered through progressive levels (Foundation → Lead Implementer → Lead Auditor, plus Transition where applicable), these programmes build practical competence to integrate environmental responsibility into day-to-day operations, strengthen assurance, and improve audit readiness across single-site and multi-site organisations. What You’ll Learn?
Interpret ISO 14001 requirements and apply the EMS approach across governance, planning, operational control, performance evaluation, and improvement. PECB+1
Identify and manage environmental aspects and impacts, strengthening prevention planning and operational decision-making. PECB+1
Build EMS governance capability for legal and other requirements, objectives, competence, communication, and documented information control. PECB+1
Establish practical controls for key operational themes such as waste management, resource efficiency, pollution prevention, emergency preparedness, and contractor/supply chain influence. PECB+1
Develop audit competence to plan, conduct, report, and close EMS audits using recognised audit principles and best practices (Lead Auditor pathway). PECB+1

  • PECB ISO 14001 Foundation (2 Days)
    A structured introduction to environmental management fundamentals and the core ISO 14001 requirements. The Foundation course is designed with no prerequisites and includes a formal certification exam. PECB+1 Key features commonly include 200+ pages of training material, 14 CPD credits, and a free exam retake (once) within 12 months of the initial exam date (subject to programme rules). PECB+1
  • PECB ISO 14001 Lead Implementer (5 Days)
    Develops competence to plan, establish, implement, manage, maintain, and continually improve an EMS aligned with ISO 14001, including best-practice implementation approaches and governance methods. PECB+1
  • PECB ISO 14001 Lead Auditor (5 Days)
    Builds competence to lead and conduct ISO 14001 audits, including audit preparation, on-site activities, and audit closure. The standard course structure includes Day 5 as the certification exam and recommends that participants have an understanding of environmental concepts, ISO 14001, and audit principles to fully benefit.   • PECB ISO 14001 Transition (2 Days) – Optional (where required)
