OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management
The OTHM Level 7 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management is a high-level qualification designed for aspiring and developing health and safety professionals—particularly managers who are responsible for developing and applying health and safety procedures on a day-to-day basis and who want to strengthen their ability to translate organisational strategy into effective operational performance.
The programme reflects current practice in occupational health and safety management and covers multidisciplinary themes including management practice, management systems effectiveness, strategic risk intervention, occupational wellbeing, sustainability and ethics, supported by an Advanced Research Methods unit to develop critical thinking and research capability within a health and safety context.

- Recognition: The qualification is regulated by Ofqual and IOSH-accredited; successful completion meets the academic requirements for Associate (AIOSH) / Technical (Tech IOSH) membership (subject to experiential criteria).
- Progression: Eligible for progression to master’s top-up routes at many UK and overseas universities (subject to university entry criteria).
The qualification consists of 6 mandatory units for a combined total of 120 credits, 1200 hours TQT, and 600 GLH:

- Strategic Commitment to Health and Well-Being (Unit Ref: F/618/8239 | 20 credits | GLH 100 | TQT 200)
- Sustainability and Ethics in Health and Safety Practice (Unit Ref: T/618/8240 | 20 credits | GLH 100 | TQT 200)
- Advanced Research Methods (Unit Ref: Y/618/8246 | 20 credits | GLH 100 | TQT 200)
